Broad Duties
 
As the Business Development Lead for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), you are responsible for the execution of GVH Aerospace strategy through effective and focussed business development and sales activity within the region. As well as regional responsibilities, the role will also involve working with the global BD team and providing cross regional support. The role encompasses local capture management, and working with the local operations director and key client managers who will support you and the broader BD team in achieving company objectives. You are required to comply with the requirements of your employment contract, relevant GVH & Nova Group policies and Design Organisation Handbooks.  Above all you are required to behave ethically and always in the best interests of the GVH Aerospace and the wider Nova Group.
 
This is technical role and understanding of EASA Part 21J regulations will be essential to succeed. This role is a full-time role.
 
Your responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:

  • Executing the GVH Aerospace strategy within the EMEA region
  • Contributing to the development of the GVH Aerospace strategy
  • Raising and maintaining business development and targeted local sales plan
  • Develop the sales pipeline for the EMEA region, working closely with the local operations director for existing clients and developing new clients
  • Performing market research activities including gathering and analysis of market data, and forecasting of trends and future opportunities
  • Achievement of sales revenue targets against established budgets for the EMEA region
  • Producing high quality capability briefs, presentations and marketing materials to support BD and sales objectives and campaigns
  • Developing quotations and proposals working collaboratively with the local and global operations, and local and global design staff
  • Performing the role of capture manager for significant opportunities and bids when delegated, devising bid strategy and approach, and coordinating the entire bid effort
  • Managing and overseeing the implementation of key client account management methodology working with selected key client managers and operations director within the region
  • Mentoring of more junior or less experience Key Client Managers as directed by Chief of Strategy and Marketing
  • Working collaboratively and coherently with the Business Development Leads of other geographic regions, and collaboratively with the selected key client managers, to maximise the revenue for GVH Aerospace and maximise capture of business opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with the relevant Nova Group business unit on opportunities where GVH Aerospace may bring value to, to maximize the revenue for Nova Group
  • Representing GVH Aerospace at various trade show and conference forums
  • Other business development functions, as directed by Chief of Strategy and Marketing
  • Adherence to company guidelines and standard operating procedures as set down by the company
  • Compliance to all Nova and GVH WHS policies and procedures and ensuring you do not place the health and safety of yourself or any other person at risk.
  • Frequent travel to meet with potential clients is required 
Essential Skills / experience 
  • Resident or with an unrestricted right to work in the United Kingdom
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong sense of commercial acumen, understanding of value proposition and ability to understand and interpret the client’s business needs
  • Strong technical understanding to represent GVH in a technical sales context
  • Ability to deliver tasks on time and with a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated strong sense of initiative and personal accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and self-manage performance
  • Self-starter and keenness for self-improvement and learning
  • Ability to work independently and as a strong team player
 Desirable Skills / experience
  • Understanding of the FAA regulatory framework
  • Experience working in EASA Part 21J DOAs and 21G POA (Highly Desirable) 
  • Understanding of the UK Military Airworthiness Design Approved Organisation Scheme (DAOS)
  • Understanding of the UK CAA BCAR framework
  • Existing relationships with EMEA customer base
  • Contract negotiation skills
  • Project leadership and management skills
